A Northern White-Faced Owl Friend, named Konoha, appeared as a minor character during the original Kemono Friends mobile game. She is the leader of the Carefree Floaters' Club. Her nickname is Konoha-chan-hakase, or "Professor Konoha-chan".

Personality

Konoha is self-serving and generally ignorant about the consequences of her actions. However, she genuinely cares about Japari Park despite her selfish image, being very knowledgeable about the Park and its history and devoting herself to its study. She is very timid, and slims herself down in a manner similar to the real-life animal when she feels she is in danger. She is known to perform (consensual) experiments on other Friends, presumably to gather information about their species. Her cleaning skills are poor, often quipping that "the word cleaning is not in [her] dictionary."
In the past, when she and Eurasian Eagle-Owl first knew each other, Konoha had a habit of ending her sentences with のじゃ (noja), a trait associated with an 'old geezer' image. This is commented on by Eurasian Eagle-Owl, who believes it didn't fit her personality.

Self-Introduction

"Greetings... ... I'm professor. I'm being called "the symbol of wisdom" and certainly I know really well about the park. We owls are very timid so... ... you mustn't deliberately make us surprised. Gently, politely, show your respect."

Role in the Plot

Forest Owlet's Character Quest

The professor appears briefly in this quest, complimenting the forest and saying that it makes her feel calm.

Relationships

Eurasian Eagle-Owl/Mimi

Mimi, whom Konoha refers to as Assistant Mimi, is her closest subordinate. Eurasian Eagle-Owl looked up to Konoha ever since she treated an injury of hers in the past. She shares Konoha's trait of acting without regards to others, much to the chagrin of other Friends. Despite their close relationship, Konoha is not safe from the same criticisms that Mimi often inflicts on other Friends.

Forest Owlet

Konoha acts imperious towards Forest Owlet, looking down on her research and criticising her frequently. Furthermore, she usually turns up at Owlet's house unannounced and demands food whenever she stays there. She and Mimi have the dubious honor of being some of the few Friends able to make Owlet angry; despite her domineering, however, Konoha nevertheless provides good advice to Forest Owlet and thinks enough of her to personally ask her for help in search of the sound-erasing Cellien.

Indian Peafowl

While Konoha does not appear to think much of Indian Peafowl one way or the other, she is nevertheless a frequent annoyance; she and Mimi often pluck Indian Peafowl's feathers for research without her permission. Konoha was also directly responsible for the annulment of Indian Peafowl's victory in the bird beauty contest held during the search for Suzaku; she picked up one of Suzaku's shedded feathers and suddenly declared that whoever owned it would be the victor instead.

Spectacled Owl

Konoha has no specific relationship with Spectacled Owl, though the latter comments that Konoha could be a great leader if she were less selfish.

Kyushu Owl/Kyutie

Konoha has a positive opinion of Kyutie, asking her for help in the Cellien investigation.

Red Junglefowl

Konoha seems to care little for Red Junglefowl; when the latter is attacked by a Cellien, Professor Konoha ignores her and tells the protagonist to 'shut her up' because she's ruining her concentration.

Green Pheasant

Green Pheasant was previously a subject for one of Konoha and Mimi's experiments. At the time, Konoha mentioned "Green Pheasant is a good jumper, but a bad flyer", prompting Green Pheasant to call her a bully in retaliation.

Rock Dove

Professor Konoha thinks positively of Rock Dove, commenting that she "looks like a genius". The two are on conversational terms; the two have a discussion on the subject of peace, which Konoha philosophises on considerably.

Japanese Bush Warbler

While no specific relationship is given, Japanese Bush Warbler interacts with Professor Konoha at one point, asking her to write a haiku.

Crested Ibis

Konoha, along with Mimi, are some of the most open critics of Crested Ibis' singing ability; Konoha describes her outright as having tone-deafness, although Crested Ibis is content to weather their remarks.

White-Naped Crane

White-Naped Crane admires Professor Konoha, though it is not known if it is reciprocated.

Serval

Serval often calls Konoha out on her actions, although the latter never heeds her.

Large-Billed Crow

Konoha's attitude towards Large-Billed Crow is unknown, although Large-Billed Crow herself is not fond of Konoha's lack of consideration for others.

Suzaku

Konoha is uncharacteristically humble towards Suzaku, listening calmly and intently when Suzaku speaks to their group about the history of Japari Park. She and Mimi were the ones who eventually gave Suzaku an offering in the latter's Character Quest; they brought a large amount of Japari buns, and went as far as inventing and gifting her a fan-like device to help her keep cool. Caracal is openly surprised at their attentiveness to Suzaku during the story.

Towa

Konoha treats the protagonist similar to most other Friends, often considering them as one of her experimental subjects.
