Resplendent Quetzal appeared as a minor character during the original Kemono Friends mobile game. She is also a member of the Carefree Floaters' Club.
Personality
She doesn't like people who only see her outside appearance and neglects her inside personality. It seems lot of people also envied her so much to the point that she dislikes the word "beautiful". While she dislikes the word "beautiful", she doesn't reject the concept of beauty. Stating that there are many types of beauty.
Self-Introduction
I'm tired hearing the word "beautiful". While it's true that I have vibrant color, I've already had that since I was born and it's not like that I consciously choose it. I wonder if anyone who trying to flirt with me will decrease. Could it be, you're different from the others?
Role in the Plot
Snow Sheep's Character Quest
In this quest Resplendant Quetzal is one of Snow Sheep's salon customer. She tells Snow Sheep that while she hates the word "beauty", doesn't take care of one's own hair is a blasphemy and this prompts agreement from Snow Sheep.
The Fireworks That Bloom in the Night Sky Event Quest
In this quest she appears in front of Medium Tree Finch's group commenting how wonderful the fireworks is and asks the group if they're the one who launched the fireworks in which Medium Tree Finch responds with yes and explains her intentions to meet with her.
After defeated the Cellien that came towards them, Resplendant Quetzal start talking about beauty and how that it's been troubling her for a long time before tells Medium Tree Finch that she's deeply moved by her effort to come to see her and asks Medium Tree Finch to become friend with her.
That Friends now? ~Memory of Fireworks~ Event Quest
The quest start with Resplendant Quetzal's autobiography. She recalls the time when she's getting really tired with word "beautiful" and decided to never leave her house except there's a need to do it. And she thought how stubborn she is until the day she met with Medium Tree Finch.
The scene then change to present time in Houtoku region where she along with Medium Tree Finch, Green Pheasant, Southern Cassowary, and Greater Bird-of-Paradise looking at large size fireworks for new year event. Green Pheasant then notices that Resplendant Quetzal has been quiet for a long time and asks her what's wrong before Resplendant Quetzal answers that she's reminiscing the fireworks during their first time meeting.
Himatsuri Event Quest
In this quest Harpy Eagle first mentions that her group is in a trouble because Resplendant Quetzal refuses to participate in the festival.
It turns out later that Resplendant Quetzal decided to participate in the contest because of Medium Tree Finch's request and tells Serval group that once she enter the contest, she will not show any lenient towards her competitors. Resplendant Quetzal is to be the hinamatsuri empress while Medium Tree Finch acts as the emperor.
