Role in the Plot

Ezo Red Fox's Character Quest

The story opens in the Kyoshu Region of Japari Park, where Mirai arrives with a video game that Serval had asked about recently. Serval expresses gratitude, and asks several nearby Friends if they would like to play it with her. African Bush Elephant agrees, and suggests holding a competition in the game once the group is used to the game. Serval thinks this is a good idea, boasting that she won't lose to Elephant. Ezo Red Fox is silently standing around nearby, watching the group, and the protagonist informs Serval of her presence. Ezo Red Fox apologizes, confusing Serval, who says that she is sorry for not noticing Ezo Red Fox, and asks her to join them in playing the game. Ezo Red doesn't know how to respond, and Serval tells her that she has no need to be reserved, and enthusiastically reminds Ezo Red that she won't lose to her.

Ezo Red Fox asks herself if it's okay that she's playing, and begins to play the game. Mirai asks if everyone is having fun, but notices that for some reason, it has suddenly become noisy. Just then, she notices a group of Ceruleans are approaching. Serval is frustrated, as she was in the middle of a good part of the game, but admits she has to stop and eliminate the threat. However, she notices that Ezo Red Fox is distracted by the game, and Ezo Red confidently declares that she has won, then becomes shocked when she notices the nearby danger. The group then defeat the Cerulean together.

Afterwards, Ezo Red Fox apologizes for getting absorbed in the game and not noticing the Cerulean, feeling guilty that she put everyone in danger. Serval tells her that she has no need to apologize, pointing towards the protagonist and assuring her that they do not mind. Ezo Red Fox thanks the protagonist, but only the protagonist, shocking Serval. Mirai says that the matter is settled, and Serval agrees, but she quickly notices that there are more Ceruleans nearby. Ezo Red Fox, wanting to apologize for earlier, rushes in alone and declares she will defeat it, scaring Serval and causing her and the protagonist to chase after her.

Once the Ceruleans have been defeated, Ezo Red Fox is hiding inside of a Japari Bus, and Serval is asking her to come out, worried. Ezo Red Fox stays silent, worrying Serval further, who asks the protagonist what to do, scared for her. Ezo Red Fox says that it was her fault that the protagonist was placed into a dangerous situation. Guilty, she apologizes, and goes on to say she cannot meet with the protagonist, but states that she also wants to play with everyone - the protagonist included - one more time. As she prepares to speak up and ask for one final play, more Ceruleans appear, and an already tired Serval expresses frustration. Ezo Red Fox, seeing an opportunity, says that she will save everyone this time, and joins the fight.

After the Ceruleans have been defeated, Ezo Red Fox attempts to apologize for causing trouble, but Serval cuts her off, telling her to play together with her. Serval explains to a confused Ezo Red that she didn't cause any trouble at all, and that playing together with friends is natural. Ezo Red Fox ponders on the word friend, and Serval asks her to continue their battle, reminding her once more that she won't lose. Ezo Red Fox agrees, and tells the protagonist that she is very happy that they showed concern for her. She is about to say something, but Serval calls to her, startling her. Serval asks what's up with Ezo Red Fox because her face is red, and Ezo Red Fox says that it is nothing, and tells her to start playing. Serval notices that Ezo Red is hiding behind the protagonist, and wonders what happened, curious. Afterwards, Ezo Red Fox asks the protagonist to take care of here from then on.
