Black Leopard is a Friend that appears in Kemono Friends 2.
Personality
She's a bit of a reserved Friend that's easily scared, and often defers to what her sister Leopard thinks and lets her talk on her behalf sometimes. However, she isn't afraid to speak her mind and argue on some occasions. She looks up to Western Lowland Gorilla.
Role in the Plot
Episode 5: The Power of Humans
Along with Leopard, she argues with Saltwater Crocodile and Spectacled Caiman over territory, taunting them that they can't even climb up the tree to reach the leopards. When Kyururu tries to explain that he's a human, she doesn't believe him because she heard humans were fearsome and strong, and she calls him a weakling because of it. After he fails to talk to the gray Lucky Beast to prove he's human, she decides to introduce him to their boss for her to determine if he is or isn't one. She objects to Saltwater Crocodile trying to steal their credit for coming up with the idea to have their boss test Kyururu.
When Western Lowland Gorilla appears, she, Leopard, and the crocodilians are intimidated. While the trio meet with Western Lowland Gorilla, she tells Leopard that the crocodilians annoy her, and she calls Kyururu a weirdo after Leopard mentions being worried about him. She mentions that if Kyururu is a human, he might know how to do that, meaning being able to control animals. She laughs, wanting to use it to control the crocodilians.
After Western Lowland Gorilla announces that Kyururu is in fact a human, she once again calls him a weakling. She's confused by his weird roaring until Leopard explains it. She starts to feel scared and hides behind Leopard once Serval and Caracal start shaking. She says that they didn't take Kyururu seriously enough as a human if he was able to make the cats shake in fear. She and Leopard fight over Kyururu with the crocodilians so he can teach them how to control the others.
After losing the fight, she asks Caracal how Kyururu took control of her. She encourages Leopard when she does battle against Saltwater Crocodile in Kyururu's game, and she gets interested and asks to play after Leopard's turn. She runs away from Siberian Tiger with the other Friends.
Episode 6: A New Morning
She disappears into the jungle with Leopard and Kaban to hide from Siberian Tiger.
Episode 11: The Ocean's Mood
She rides with Kaban and the rest of the Friends to the hotel in the trailer. When Saltwater Crocodile points out that Leopard secretly cares about Kyururu and Saltwater Crocodile tells her to be honest, Black Leopard agrees, causing Leopard to become flustered and tell her to shut up. As they approach the hotel, she observes that the entrance is underwater.
Later, she and Leopard lead a group of Cellien clones to the pool room where the crocodilians leap out and defeat them alongside the leopards.
Episode 12: I'm Home
Along with the other Friends, she helps fight off the hordes of Cellien clones on the roof. She helps clear the way back into the hotel for Kyururu so he can secure his drawing with the help of the other Friends and admires Western Lowland Gorilla's leadership. Later, when Siberian Tiger is brought to the hotel, she and Leopard think that Siberian Tiger is helping them when she defeats a bunch of Celliens, but they get chased off by her afterwards. She's amazed when Serval and Caracal defeat their Cellien clones, referring to them as Kyururu's minions.
She can be seen at the end of the episode on the beach with Leopard after the hotel collapses.
Relationships
Leopard
She serves as Black Leopard's sister and decides things for the both of them on her behalf. They work together against Saltwater Crocodile and Spectacled Caiman.
Saltwater Crocodile and Spectacled Caiman
They argue over territory disputes with the leopards, and they want to be able to control them by learning the rumor about how humans controlled animals. They're able to set aside their conflict to work with her and Leopard against a common enemy, the Cellien clones.
Trivia
- She speaks using an Osaka dialect, a specific regional Kansai dialect, the same as Leopard. An obvious example of this is when she refers to Caracal as Caracal-han, a different pronunciation of the -san honorific.
