Common Bottlenose Dolphin is a Friend that appears as one of the minor characters of Kemono Friends 2.

Personality

Common Bottlenose Dolphin is very playful and acrobatic, but will often ask for a reward after performing a trick in front of an audience. If not given a reward, she will often pressure the person until she gets a reward. She is also very picky about the rewards she wants to receive after performing certain tasks. She's also quick to save others if they fall in the water.

Role in the Plot

Episode 3: Creatures of the Sea

Common Bottlenose Dolphin is first seen playing a ball with California Sea Lion, jumping and kissing the ball, and passes praises and a Japari Bun to each other in turn. When California Sea Lion is bored by the repetitive play and feels like something's missing, Common Bottlenose Dolphin suggests to find Orca, only to be interrupted by Kyururu, Serval and Caracal. The pair of marine Friends greet and wave at the trio and asks for rewards from them. After listening to Kyururu's wish to find the scene in the sketchbook, the two marine Friends rows the boat the trio have boarded to a spot in the sea, and dive with Kyururu to explore the sunken performance stage underneath, showing her telepathic ability of speaking underwater to Kyururu. After they reach the stage, she tells Kyururu that California Sea Lion said it's time they go back to the boat because the ocean's mood has been bad recently.

However, once back on the boat, the pair of marine Friends slacks off playing with the ball. They decided they would only row the trio back ashore after getting a reward for bringing them to the stage. When Kyururu creates some toys from the stuff on the boat to make up for not having any snacks to give as a reward, Common Bottlenose Dolphin is excited, jumping into the water so she can soar into the air and kiss the attached buoy when Kyururu casts it into the air. She rescues Serval after she fell into the sea while trying to play with the rod and buoy, and afterwards thanks the trio for showing them applause, which was the missing feeling she and California Sea Lion discussed earlier in the episode, along with encouragement and motivation from their claps. They then row the boat on the return trip. As the sun sets, the pair receives Kyururu's gift of the drawing them playing at the sunken stage. Common Bottlenose Dolphin promises to be at the aid of the trio whenever they finds the pair again, and waves as the trio leave. At the end of the day, she wants to play with the toy Kyururu left her with Orca, but California Sea Lion leaves that for the time when the sea "has a better mood".

Episde 6: A New Morning

She appears in Kyururu's dream, warning him to stay away from the ocean because of it's worsening mood. As the underwater Cellien approaches he wakes up, which leads him to theorize that underwater volcanic eruptions lead to Cellien appearances.

Episode 11: The Ocean's Mood

She and California Sea Lion save Kyururu from drowning in the ocean. She eagerly asks him if he's okay when he wakes up on the beach after being rescued. She explains that Northern White-Faced Owl asked for them to come to the hotel, and that Kyururu's drawings were causing Celliens that looked just like Friends to appear, and sighs while talking about how tough they were to fight. She mentions Giant Panda and Cheetah saw and defeated Celliens like them as well, and warns that similar Celliens might appear at the hotel, too. Lastly, she tells the trio the good news that Kaban and all the other Friends are on their way to the hotel. She tells them to call for her and California Sea Lion if anything happens as the two head back to the ocean to leave.

Episode 12: I'm Home

She appears in the water with California Sea Lion to warn the Friends at the hotel about the increasing activity of the undersea volcano and the ocean's mood worsening, and that it could lead to more Celliens. Later, they meet with Kaban to report their findings from the ocean. She warns Kaban that the ocean hasn't calmed down and that another big Cellien might be coming. After Siberian Tiger appears on the roof of the boat, California Sea Lion and Common Bottlenose Dolphin appear, telling Kyururu to ride them back to the hotel, but are shocked when his plan is to ride the boat with Kaban back to the hotel instead.
