Tsuchinoko is a Friend that appears in the app version of Kemono Friends 3.

Personality

KF3 Tsuchinoko affects a confident and blunt personality, with brusque and informal speech patterns, but seems to exhibit shyness in regards to displaying outwardly positive emotions. This is most evident in her victory lines, where she loudly celebrates before stuttering and 'correcting' herself.

Strategy

Tsuchinoko is a 'glass cannon' character with some of the lowest survivability in the game when accounting for both HP and defense bases in tandem. However, her damage (while still very high) is not necessarily the highest in order to counterweight this; she is outdamaged and outdefended by both White Tiger and Orca, to give Carefree examples.

Consequently, players looking to get the most out of Tsuchinoko should leverage her high base Evasion as much as possible, to provide additional utility by outright nullifying damage and generally making it safer to use her to begin with. Equip her with Today's Homework Is Doubled! along with standard high-tier survivability photos like Captaaain!, and consider using her alongside friends that affect team evasion or enemy accuracy such as Northern White-Faced Owl and Malayan Tapir. Naturally, it is also a good idea to just boost her survivability as much as possible via the same means, with the aforementioned Owl as well as Greater Lophorina or Shisa Right.

Tsuchinoko's standby should be used sooner rather than later, since you have to actually attack with her for it to have any use whatsoever. While you could have her teammates attack with Try flags on the turn you plan to activate it in order to increase the healing effect the next turn, her low Plasm value means you are probably better off using Beat flags to deal damage or Action flags to setup Miracles.

Trivia

• The coin Tsuchinoko flips during her Kemono Miracle is a reference to a very iconic scene in Episode 4 of the 2017 Anime in which she holds up a coin and loudly proclaims the simple phrase "Japari Coin-Da!" The scene has become the source of many jokes amongst fans as well as leading Japari Coins to be commonly associated with the character.
