How to Encounter

Japanese River Otter remains extremely elusive to encounter without luck, as the 4-star Wooden Water House added upon her release is her only non-limited rateup. Out of her limited 3-star rateups, the Sasakazari is the most effective, due to it only having one other rateup.

Unique Behavior

• かくれんぼ (Hide-and-Seek) - Hides inside the doorway of the Wooden Water House on the right side, with only her tail visible; after a while, she bobs her head out from the side and smiles.
• すべるのたのしい (???) - Climbs to the top of the Pink Balloon Slide, sits for a moment, then happily slides down into the water.

Trivia

• On 4/1/18 (April Fools' Day), Japanese River Otter temporarily gave quintuple Coin and material drops for 24 hours.
  Her old LB-III line.
• Oddly enough, Japanese River Otter's LB-III line at launch was simply "Furenzu" (Friends) rather than her actual Japanese name, like it is for all other Friends. This was later changed in an update.
• Her description was given a minor change on 8/21/19: the 3-dot ellipses were changed to 6 dots.
