外見からイワダヌキともいわれていますが、分類的にはゾウや馬と類縁関係になり、足には蹄に似た扁爪があります。足の裏の肉球には多数の汗腺があって、常に湿っていて粘着力があります。 「わたしの肉球、いつも濡れていてペタペタしているんだけど、吸盤みたいにしてまっすぐな岩壁でも登れちゃうんだよ。岩にへばりついたまま眠っちゃうこともあるけどね……」	{{{endescription}}}
