ウサギのように長い耳を持つことから、この名が付きました。頭胴長が5cm前後に対し、耳は約4cmにもなります。翼はあまり大きくはないので、飛ぶスピードは遅めです。洞窟を主な住処にしています。日本にいるのは別種で、ニホンウサギコウモリとして分類されています。 「キ！ウサギコウモリでしゅ。洞窟や森の中でよく遊んでましゅが、ヒトのおうちにも興味がありましゅ。今度カグヤコウモリたちを誘って、忍び込んでみようと思ってましゅ。え？悪さはしないでしゅよ。ちょっとぶらりしに行くだけ。ぶら下がり心地を調べるんでしゅ！キ！」	{{{endescription}}}
