全身が鱗状の板（鱗甲板）で覆われているのが特徴ですが、この鱗甲板は、体毛が変化したものです。歯は８０本以上あるそうで、この数は哺乳類最多といわれています。 「やっほやほー！『武装したもの』ってのでわたしの名前がついたらしいんだけど······もうちょっと可愛い方がよかったよね？でもイザっていうときにプロテクターは役に立つから、感謝してるけどね！」	{{{endescription}}}
