Mukku is a popular children TV show character originally from Hirake! Ponkikki (ひらけ!ポンキッキ), alongside Gachapin, who perform all matters of skits and other physical feats, all while in costumes. The Friend's affinity for music and playing instruments is directly referencing Mukku's behavior in the show. Mukka's design is based on Yeti, an ape-like creature from folklores.
