Category:Lizard Friends

A list of all Friends based on primarily carnivorous, highly-diverse reptiles belonging to the suborder Lacertilia, collectively known as lizards. This suborder is paraphyletic, as some of its members are more closely related to members of the suborder Serpentes—that which contains the snakes, which diverged from the lizards over 140 million years ago—than they are to other members of Lacertilia.

Lizards vary immensely in size, lifestyle, and biology; the wall-clinging geckos of the suborder wikipedia:Gekkota, the color-shifting chameleons of the family Chamaeleonidae, and the colossal Komodo dragons (species Varanus komodoensis) are just a few examples of the many members of Lacertilia.
