Bergman's Bear could be a subspecies of the brown bear native to Kamchatka Peninsula in the far east of Russia. Not much is known about the species, other than that it is significantly larger than other bears in the region. It was first identified in 1855. In 1920 a hide was examined by Swedish zoologist Sten Bergman, giving the bear the name. He noted that the hide was far larger than other Kamchatkan Bears and had short hair instead of the usual long hair. In the 60s, native Kamchatkans reported sightings of another unusually large bear they nicknamed the "god bear". Unfortunately, for "military reasons" most of the Kamchatka Peninsula has been closed off since the cold war.
It is unclear whether the Bergman's Bear really exists, if it is a subspecies and if so, what of. A theory suggests they might be Alaskan Grizzlys or Kodiak Bears that found their way over the winter ice to Russia, as Alaska has also seen reports of unusually large bears. They could also be Ezo Brown Bears that found their way to Kamchatka, as they're larger than the native bears and can rarely reach unusual sizes.
Kemono Friends' Bergman's Bear Kemono Friends' Bergman's Bear appeared in the Nexon Game. She has long, grey-black hair bound to a ponytail by a large pink ribbon. She likes collecting large things and is part of the small group "Large Love" lead by Kodiak Bear, also consisting of Ezo Brown Bear.
