The [[Patas Monkey]] is a species of monkey native to subsaharan Africa. Males are around 80 centimeters long and weigh around 12 kilograms, twice as much as the females. They have reddish brown fur on the back and are white at the belly and limb. They have black and grey markings in their face. They have a noticeable white moustache-like area of hair around the mouth. They're omnivorous, feeding on tubers, roots, seeds and insects.

Unlike many other monkeys and primates, Patas Monkeys are almost exclusively ground-dwellers. They're well-adapted to life on the ground though and have the fastest running speed of any primate, reaching up to 55 kilometers per hour. They need to be quick to survive, as they live in open savanna and have no other means of escaping predators. They have many different alarm calls depending on who calls and what kind of predator is stalking the pack.
