The Common Degu is a small rodent native to the Andes Mountains in South America, mostly Chile. They are typically around 30 centimeters long with a black-tipped tail and soft, yellow-ish brown fur. They are diurnal animals, active in the morning and evening, and eat a herbivorous diet consisting of seeds, bark, fruit, and leaves.

Kemono Friends' Common Degu was introduced in a collaboration with Nagasaki Biopark. Her first official artwork also featured Fennec, as her then-voice actress Kana Motomiya had one as a pet called Kisuke. She later appeared in Pavilion, where players with the [[Tin Robot]] can watch her wind it up and have it walk around. She also appears in the Kemono Friends 3 mobile game during the Chinese New Years event, where she is a four-star Relaxed friend; here, she is friends with and commonly appears in scenes with [[Long-Tailed Chinchilla]], a nod to the year 2020 being the year of the Rat in the Chinese zodiac (while they are not rats ''per se,'' they are both rodents).

The Pink-Backed Pelican is one of the smallest species of Pelican. They're native to all kinds of bodies of water in sub-saharan Africa. They're around 140 centimeters long and their wingspan may be up to 2.8 meters. They plumage is mostly grey and white with a bit of a pink-ish hue on the upper back. Like the other pelicans they have an iconic throat pouch. They're mostly sedetary but may travel depending on the water conditions.

Kemono Friends' Pink-Backed Pelican only appeared in the Nexon Game so far. She likes poetry, romantic novels and love in general. She is a lot pinker than her real life counterpart.
