Siberian Chipmunk, more commonly called by the Japanese species name Shimarisu (しまりす), or her nicknames Kozō (こぞう / 小僧) or Orisu-chan (おリスちゃん) among members and fans, was a Virtual YouTuber and part of the KemoV project. As a all-rounded gamer, she is one of the five members of Kemo-V Next Project, often nicknamed, "Kemono Rangers", or simply Kemoren (けもレン), announced on July 1st, 2022. She formed a gaming-focused team, "Kemono Gamers", alongside Brown Long-Eared Bat and Jungle Cat; the trio is often called by its nickname Furupan (ふるぱん). Siberian Chipmunk has graduated from the KemoV Project on April 28, 2024.

Personality

She is confident, energetic, cheerful and very smart. She has a lively and boyish voice. The way she talks and her bold laughter easily leave viewers a memorable impression. The random funny gibberish she speaks during gameplays is also her signature. As an experienced gamer she has remarkable gaming skills and has shown an impressively unbeatable attitude when it comes to playing challenging games. She can be competitive and excited when it comes to playing games and likes to try out different titles. During collabs with other members, she often plays the role of a game master.

Greetings

She greets viewers with "Oha-risu-!" (おはりすー!) and her ending phrase is "Bye-cha-!" (ばいちゃー).

Regular Streams

She usually streamed in the evening at various times from 19:00 to 23:00 JST. She commonly streamed gameplay or talking streams, and would host occasional karaoke streams. She often ended up becoming absorbed in whichever game she was playing and, consequently, would stream for longer than expected. Minecraft and Kemono Friends 3 were her most streamed games.

Trivia

  • She was nicknamed Kozō (こぞう / 小僧), meaning "child" or "kid", likely because she was—according to testimony from her peers—the shortest member of the project while she was active. It was most likely a nickname given by Island Fox.
  • Other than Kozō, other nicknames included Orisu, Orisu-chan or Risu-chan, and Chama (ちゃま), the latter of which was often used by Brown Long-Eared Bat. The "Chama" nickname likely originated from a variant of the honorific suffix "sama" (さま), which can have a "cha" sound when mispronounced by children. In turn, Siberian Chipmunk often used the suffix "chama" when addressing her viewers.
  • She created an acorn character named Guri-chan (ぐりちゃん) which often appeared on stream with her.
  • She called superchats on her channel "Donguri" (どんぐり), meaning "acorns".
  • 11st November is designated as "Shimarisu's Day" (シマリスの日) in Japan. She held celebration streams on that day.
  • Her favorite games included Apex Legends, Pokémon, Minecraft and The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage.
  • She proclaimed a love for the Chiikawa (ちいかわ) franchise. Its flying squirrel, Momonga (モモンガ), was said to be her favorite.
  • She claimed to dislike alcoholic drinks and coffee, as well as mint-chocolate flavored foods.
  • She voiced the Friend of the same name, Siberian Chipmunk, in the mobile game, Kemono Friends 3. The CV name is listed as "・・・?", conforming to the practice of virtual YouTubers' real-life personal identities being protected.
