“Greetings. Don't be afraid, because this saber is only for defending myself. Using something like saber will only get me hurt. Rather than that, I will be happy if you tell me about yourself. Because from now on I want to get along with you... ...”
Smilodon's Introduction.

The Saber-Toothed Tiger or Smilodon is a type of extinct Friend that has appeared in various Kemono Friends media.

Appearance

Saber-Toothed Tiger has short, yellow hair with a pair of long white side fringes resembling the animal’s famous and sometimes eponymous “saber teeth”, tied off from her hair by brown and red ribbons. She has a pair of tiger-like ears, which are orange and brown with a white spot in the middle, tufts on the top, and lighter fur on the inside. She has a relatively long orange and brown striped tail. In one hand, she carries a silver sword with a golden handle, and the orange and brown striped scabbard is held in her other hand. Her eyes are a blue-grey and have no shine like other extinct Friends.

Saber-Toothed Tiger wears an orange and brown striped lace-up corset over a puffy-sleeved collared white blouse. Tied behind this is a large brown bow. The cuffs of the sleeves, as well as her tie and skirt are orange with a plaid pattern, and her skirt has a white frill on the edge. Long gloves extend out from under her sleeves, and are white at the wrists and hands while the upper parts follow the same tiger-like pattern as her corset. Her thigh high socks are similar to her gloves, with the same colouring and white detailing. Her shoes are heeled boots that split at the top and have a small brown fur trim and brown laces.

Saber-Toothed Tiger is an extinct genus of big cats. It is one of the most famous prehistoric mammals, and the best known saber-toothed cat. Although commonly known as the saber-toothed tiger, it was not closely related to the tiger. Overall, Saber-Toothed Tiger was more robustly built than any extant cat, with particularly well-developed forelimbs and exceptionally long upper canine teeth. Its jaw had a bigger gape than that of modern cats, and its upper canines were slender and fragile, being adapted for precision killing.

Trivia

  • Real life Saber-Toothed Tiger have short tails, however she has a longer tail. Although it is still short compared to the tails of the big cat Friends.
  • Despite also having a tiger-like pattern in her natural looks, real life saber-toothed cats are not closely related to tigers or any other big cat living today.
  • The mobile game identifies her as Machairodontinae, the family saber-toothed cats belong to.
