Role in the Plot
Episode 1 - Savanna Area
Hippopotamus first appears when Serval and Kaban head towards water hole. She rises up from the bottom of the pond, surprising Kaban. She asks where they are going and who Kaban is. After Serval responds, she advises the two about the Celliens and tries to identify what animal Kaban is, but is unable to. She returns during the Cellien fight at the end of the episode, jumping to Kaban's defense, and prevents one of the Cellien's jaws from clamping down.
Episode 12 - Amusement Park
Hippopotamus helps the other Friends in the fight against the Black Cellien. She is present at the party in the Amusement Park, eating Japari Buns.
Relationships
Serval
Hippopotamus seems to be a longtime acquaintance of Serval in the Savanna Area as she is quite familiar with Serval’s strengths and general silliness, at least on good enough terms to tease her.
