ボルネオ島に暮らしているアジアゾウの亜種です。近縁種から30万年前に分化し、森林生活に適応するため小型化しました。十分なエサや水を得るには、約300平方キロメートルの森林が必要だそうです。現在、森林開発による生息地の減少や密猟、住民との衝突により数を減らし、絶滅が危惧されています。 「ハーイ！ジャングル探検隊のボルネオゾウだよ！探検隊って言っても私とスマトラゾウちゃんの2人だけど。オランウータンちゃんも誘って今日もパトロールに行こうかな？セルリアンがいたらバッチーンして、困った子がいたら助けてあげるの。仲間は大切だもん……。あなたも一緒に来る？」	{{{endescription}}}
