In Real Life
The Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur is a medium-sized critically endangered primate endemic to Madagascar.
They are most active during the day, and can rarely be seen on the forest floor, as they spend most of their time in the island canopy. This species is considered the most frugivorous of all lemurs, most of it's consumed calories coming from fruit. The rest of the black-and-white-ruffed lemurs diet comes from flowers, pollen, nuts, seeds, and leaves.
They are the largest members of the superfamily lemuroidea weighting up to 9 pounds, and their fruit-consuming tendencies have earned them the title of "biggest pollinator", as when feeding pollen sticks to their fur and is transported to other locations.
Trivia
