The [[Water Deer]] is a small deer native to China and Korea. They're around a meter in length and half a meter tall at the shoulders. They weigh around 10 kilograms. They're brown with some creamy spots on the belly, rump and neck. Water Deer are quite different from other deer though they still belong to the same family. They prefer swamps, rivers and other wet habitats. They use tall reeds to hide and love swimming. They're able to swim for miles and reach all kinds of islands. Instead of running like they other, they appear to hop like bunnies. Perhaps their most discerning feature are their lack of antlers on both sexes. Instead, they have long canine teeth that protrude downward. Interestingly, these teeth are held rather loosely and can be moved back, forth and to the sides.

Kemono Friends Water Deer only appeared in the Nexon game. She has short brown hair with long white side bangs reprenting the tusks. She also has a large mark in the corner of each eye representing the deers glands. She has big animal ears. She wears a long-sleeved brown shirt, brown pantyhose and brown hotpants. She gets scared easily and just wants to have fun with everyone.

Kemono Friends' Australian Devil is a separate character from Tasmanian Devil. She's very shy and reserved, especially compared to her counterpart. Her outfit is completely black with a white stripe above the chest and her brown shoes and gloves. Aside from appearing in the anime in the crowd of PPP's concert, she also appeared in the =LOVE stage play featuring extinct friends and Tsuchinoko and she now plays a major role in the plot of Kemono Friends 3 along with Tasmanian Devil and Blackbuck as the team Batten Japari Dan.

The Australian Devil was a local population of the Tasmanian Devil on the mainland of Australia. They went extinct most likely around 3,000 years ago and most widely believed due to the dingoes and increased aridity of the mainland.

The Devils got their name from early explorers of Tasmania, who heard the loud and hellish sounding vocalizations of the animal at nights. Some other early nicknames include "Beelzebubs pup" and "bear devil" as they have some similarities to small dogs or bears.
