The [[Pale-throated Sloth]] is a species of three-toed sloth that inhabits tropical rainforests in northern South America. It is confused with the brown-throated sloth due to similar appearances, although the latter's distribution is far wider. They are herbivorous, solitary animals that spend almost their whole lives in trees, and are known and distinguished by their slow and ponderous movement. On top of this, they reportedly spend upwards of eighteen hours a day sleeping; thankfully, their strong, hooked claws allow them to sleep while hanging from branches, without having to slowly lumber down to the ground.

Kemono Friends' Pale-throated Sloth was revealed in May 2018, and has not had any official appearances in franchise media as of yet. Her self-introduction portrays her appropriately as a lethargic individual, although she seems to view her apparent 'laziness' as more of a preference for being 'efficient'. She is the second sloth Friend to have been revealed, after [[Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth]].

The Common Raccoon is a medium-sized nocturnal mammal native to North America. They are around 60 to 100 centimeters long head to tail and weigh around five to twelve kilograms. They have dark grey fur on their body with a black ringed tail.

They don't actually "wash" their food but they have often been observed dabbling for food underwater, giving them the appearance of washing something and they examine their food with their sensitive front paws. Only captive raccoons douse their food, probably as an instinct. They are very skilled climbers and they climb up trees to escape danger.
