A Scarlet Ibis Friend appears in chapter 17 of the Kemono Friends Manga. In her only appearance, she meets with Crested Ibis after Southern Rockhopper Penguin recommends the two try singing together.
Personality
Scarlet Ibis likes to sing and is very smug, similar to her second generation counterpart. When the audience applauded her and Crested Ibis during their performance at the Fall Music Fest Scarlet Ibis smugly thought that they were clapping for her specifically.
Role in the Plot
Scarlet Ibis makes her manga debut when Rockhopper arranges for her and Crested Ibis to meet and sing together. When they do, the two find that they've improved by a lot and decide to participate in the Japari Park Fall Music Fest one month later. Rockhopper and the rest of PPP attend the performance and other audience members like Margay express their interest in Scarlet and Crested Ibis. The two thank everyone for coming and proceed to sing. When they do, they harmonize and the audience is amazed by the performance. At their applause, Scarlet Ibis decides that the audience must be clapping for her and decides to perform solo. She steps in front of Crested Ibis and sings without her, this time singing painfully out of tune. This sends the audience running, some of whom express fear for their lives. Scarlet and Crested Ibis are then left on stage by themselves.
Relationships
Crested Ibis
Scarlet Ibis meets with Crested Ibis to sing by recommendation of Rockhopper. They get along well and become a singing duo when they learn how well they sing together. They go on to preform at the Fall Music Fest, but scare the audience away when Scarlet Ibis decides to become a solo act.

- Scarlet Ibis had yet to be redesigned when she appeared in the manga, so she appears in her old design.
