耳が丸くて小さく、尻尾は太いずんぐりした体形ですが、イヌの仲間です。アライグマに似ていますが、尻尾のシマシマがないのがタヌキです。臆病で銃声に驚いて気絶したりしますが、その後気がついて逃げ出すことから、’’タヌキ寝入り’’　という言葉が生まれました。 「あ、あのタヌキは決めた相手とずっといっしょに暮らす、の······。あ、だから、その······わたしの言ってる意味、わかるかな？わかる、よね？あなたと······」	{{{endescription}}}
