Greater Lophorina is a Friend who appears in Kemono Friends Pavilion. She was the fifteenth Friend added to the game after 1.6.0, and the ninety-eighth Friend added overall.

「地上でもっとも漆黒」と言われる、光をほぼ100%吸収する漆黒の羽毛をもっているのがカタカケフウチョウ（オス）です。求愛ダンスの際の鮮やかな青い飾り羽が印象的ですが、この青色を目立たせるため、究極に黒くなったとも言われています。1種とされていましたが、新たに2種いるとする説も出ています。 「オオフウチョウはありえないくらいハデで、ゴクラクしててカワイイね。わたしはシックにキめたいカンじだから、クロをキワめるの。ダンスもハゲしくなの。カンザシフウチョウはライバルなのだけど、イッショにオドって、クラヤミをテらすヒカリのハナになるの」

The male Greater Lophorina's feathers—often described as "the blackest of blacks"—are so dark that they absorb almost 100% of all incoming light. When preforming their distinctive courtship dances, it is said that they make their bodies even more black in order to make their light-blue plumage stand out. It was originally considered that only one species of this bird existed, but two more have been discovered since. “Bird-Of-Paradise is unbelievably majestic, carefree, and cute. But I want to be chic; that's why I wear black. My dance is also intense. Western Parotia is my rival, but when we dance together, we become the flower that shines on the darkness."

How to Encounter

The items added in Lophorina's update are the Blue Light Stage and the UFO Toy, the latter of which is time-limited.
