標準的な大きさは、体高（肩までの高さ）160～170cm、体重500kgほどです。競走馬のスピードは平均で時速60km、最高で時速75kmも出るといわれています。鹿毛より黒い毛の割合が多い赤褐色の黒鹿毛と比べてさらに黒く、鼻や目の周りなど一部を除きほぼ全身黒いのが青鹿毛です。 「ん？なにかオレに用か。悪いがトレーニングの途中だ。メニューを消化するまで待っててくれるか。まじめ？違うな。走りたいからトレーニング。トレーニングしたから走る。その繰り返しがオレを前へと駆り立てる。だから負けないさ。くりげにも、しろげにも。あ…すまん、もうちょっとだけ待っててくれるか」	{{{endescription}}}
