Albums are a class of item in Kemono Friends Kingdom which are equipped by Friends for the stat boosts and special passive effects they grant. The game uses three terms in reference to these items: Album, Type and Set. An Album is any one of three individual left-side, center, or right-side pieces- labelled as I, II and III respectively- which, when combined with the other two corresponding pieces of the same Type, form a Set. Albums will always grant a stat boost when equipped, by virtue of their randomly assigned Attribute, but their listed special effects- known as Set effects- only activate when a full Set is in use.

Albums are sorted into four ascending rarities: C, B, A, and S. Albums of higher rarities grant larger stat boosts and possess more powerful passive effects when used in a Set.

Players can acquire most Albums as rewards for story progression, special events, and clearing stages of the Subway. Some Albums can only be obtained through the paid Advanced Kingdom Guide.

Types and Sets

There are 27 unique Album Types, or Sets, in the game. Each Set grants a specific passive or conditionally-activated effect, called a Set effect, to any Friend who equips it. If a Friend mixes and matches Albums from different Sets, none of those Albums' listed Set effects will be active; a full Set must be equipped to benefit from a Set effect. Albums also grant stat buffs based on the unique Attributes of each Album; unlike a Set effect, these buffs do not require a complete Album Set to be in use in order to take effect.

While A-, B-, and C-Rarity Albums only have one Set effect, S-Rarity Albums gain a secondary effect upon reaching Lv.36.

Lists of Album Types and Set Effects

S-Rarity Sets
Album Type Set Effect Summary Secondary Set Effect Summary (S-Rarity Only)
A Throw of Fate Grants the user Dice when using a Miracle, even if their Miracle would not normally grant Dice. Dice always show at least 4.
Crisscrossed Venom Gives the user's attacks a 50% chance to inflict 2 rounds of Poison on a target. Attacks deal bonus damage to Poisoned targets.
Dice Cannon Grants additional Dice to the user when using a Dice-collecting Miracle. Grants a boost to the user's higher attacking stat, based on Dice points collected.
Edge of the Destruction Increases max HP, but damages the user at the end of each turn. End-of-turn damage does not occur if user has the lowest HP among Friends in combat.
Flash Ambush When entering combat, user gains an ATK boost lasting 7 rounds. User additionally gains a single-round boost to their higher attacking stat.
Healing Rhythm When dealing healing, user may deal bonus healing to the lowest-HP Friend. Dealing healing may grant a Shield to the target.
Healing Spa User gains 2 rounds of HP recovery when HP drops below 35%. One time per battle. Additionally gains a RES boost for 1 round when the Album activates.
Heart of the Watch When entering combat, all Friends in combat gain a DEF boost lasting 7 rounds. 70% of the DEF boost also applies to Friends who are not in combat.
Hidden Ambush User gains Leaves when RES becomes negative. One time per battle. User gains bonus Leaves and a RES boost.
Lord of the Hunt When entering combat, user gains an ATK boost lasting 4 rounds. Healer Friends can only activate 60% of this effect. Gains an ATK boost every round for the 4 rounds this Album is in effect.
Perfect Relay Race After dealing Catapult DMG, boosts the Catapult DMG of the next Friend to enter combat; grants +50% more if hitting a Core. The next Friend to enter combat grants the same boost they received from this Album to the next Friend to enter combat after themselves. Effect does not stack.
Shining Assist User's Miracle grants a 1-round ATK boost to the next Friend to enter combat. If that Friend is an Assaulter, they gain +50% more ATK. This effect can stack. Non-Assaulter Friends now gain a +50% boost; Assaulter Friends now gain a +80% boost.
Thunder Defense User's Miracle grants DEF to Friends in combat for 1 round. Non-Guard Friends can only grant 20% of this effect. Friends with under 20% of their max HP remaining receive an additional DEF boost. Non-Guard Friends can only grant 20% of this effect.
Tour success! Boosts user's Catapult DMG this round. Boosts next instance of Catapult DMG dealt.
Trials of the Forest At the end of each round, user may grant Leaves to a Friend who is Powering Up. If user has less than 10% HP, has an 80% chance to grant bonus Leaves.
Weakness Pinpointed User's attacks may reduce target's DEF for 3 rounds. Can stack up to 5 times. Activation chance and potency increased when user has a Radiant Advantage over the target.

Attributes

Each individual Album possesses one of ten Attributes, each of which grants a different set of boosts- called an Attribute Bonus- to the base stats of any Friend who equips an Album with that Attribute. Albums do not need to form a Set in order for a Friend to benefit from each Attribute's stat boost, and the Attribute types of each Album do not need to match for their Attribute Bonuses to apply.

Attributes and Associated Stats
Attribute Name Stats Boosted

Balanced PATK, SATK, PDEF, SDEF, HP

Pachyderm PDEF, SDEF, HP

Scaly PDEF
Slimy SDEF

Some notes:

  • Although King and Balanced both boost all stats, the boosts provided by King are superior.
    • In turn, although King provides a boost to all stats while Attributes such as Slimy and Poisonous only boost a single stat, those Albums which boost one stat give a greater boost to that specific stat than what King gives to that stat.
  • Albums of rarity B or C cannot possess the Sharp, Poisonous, Scaly, Slimy, or Hibernation Attributes; these five are restricted to Albums of S or A rarity.
  • The boosts granted by an Attribute increase relative to the rarity of the Album in question; for instance, a King Album of S-Rarity will grant higher stat boosts than a King Album of A-Rarity.

Album Levelling and Enhancement

All Albums start at Lv.1 and cap at different levels depending on their rarity: S-Rarity Albums cap at +80, A-Rarity Albums cap at +50, and the B and C-Rarity Albums both cap at +20. Levelling up an Album increases the values of its Attribute Bonuses, and can boost the power of a Set Bonus when all three Albums equipped are of the same level; if a Friend equips a Set with Albums of differing levels, the lowest-level Album's Set Bonus effects will be the ones applied to the Friend. To level up an Album, a player will use items called Manuscripts, which are found through regular game play.

At certain intervals of an Album's progression, one extra copy of the same Album- the level and Attribute of which do not need to match- must be consumed instead of Manuscripts in order for the Album in question to reach its next level.

Manuscripts

Manuscripts are loose pages of an unknown author's writings, detailing scientific findings in experiments done with Sandstar. Four types of Manuscript can be found, and each grants a different amount of EXP when used on an Album. Manuscripts can be obtained through story progression, events, Subway stage completion, the Redeem shops, and as drops from the Main House in the Park.

Types of Manuscript
Name EXP Yield Item Details
Ruined Manuscript 50 EXP A page from a secret manuscript where most of the text has been deliberately painted black, making the handwriting unreadable. It seems that someone is trying to hide a big secret. Used to enhance Albums and grant 50 EXP.
Simple Manuscript 200 EXP A page from a secret manuscript where abstract scribbles record the process of a Sandstar experiment. Something seems to have gne terribly out of control, and the corrosion stain on the page may be a clue leading to the truth. Used to enhance Albums and grant 200 EXP.
Profound Manuscript 1000 EXP A page from a secret manuscript where equations record the secret of Sandstar's transformation. Many secrets about the Sandstars still remain unknown, waiting for you to unveil. Used to enhance Albums and grant 1,000 EXP.
Obscure Manuscript 2500 EXP A page from a secret manuscript where an unexpected phenomenon that occurred during the Sandstar experiment is recorded. The writer is probably the only one who understands its meaning. Used to enhance Albums and grant 2,500 EXP.

Dismantling Albums

Through the Album equip menu, players may access the Album Dismantle menu. Here, Albums can be dismantled in order to obtain additional Manuscripts based on that Album's rarity; additionally, when dismantling an Album which has been levelled up, the player will receive Manuscripts equal in value to those invested in that Album, as condensed into the highest levels of Manuscripts possible.

Because dismantling old Albums allows players to effectively reclaim invested Manuscripts, there is little issue with levelling up low-Rarity Albums before acquiring stronger ones. However, it should be noted that while any type of Manuscript can be used at any stage of Album levelling, only the EXP which contributed to an Album's level increases can be reclaimed by dismantling; using Manuscripts which grant more EXP than required can result in an EXP overflow, which is not able to be reclaimed by dismantling and is thus lost. To avoid this, it is advised that only low-yield Manuscripts be used to upgrade low-rarity Albums.
