Starry Story EP is the debut release of Gothic×Luck, a musical duo in the Kemono Friends franchise made up of Western Parotia (Kan Madoka) and Greater Lophorina (Yagi Mashiro). The EP consists of five tracks, two of which are ending themes to Kemono Friends 2.

Starry Story EP was released in three separate physical editions, all on March 13th, 2019. The standard edition, featuring Kan Madoka and Yagi Mashiro against a starry background as its cover, was released for ¥1800 with no special bonuses. However, in contrast, the two first-run limited editions, both priced at ¥2500, contain separate bonuses exclusive to that edition.
The Production Recording edition features art by gemi depicting Madoka and Mashiro standing in front of a moon background on top of an undefined body of water, while the bird-of-paradise Friends they represent are present in their reflection. This edition features a bonus DVD that contains a music video for their debut song, Connect the Stars, as well as a recording of the duo's first-ever live performance during Stage Play "Kemono Friends 2" ~Kemonos of the Snowy Night~.
The Kemono Friends edition instead features art by Mine Yoshizaki depicting Western Parotia and Greater Lophorina locking fingers with their backs turned to each other. This edition comes with two glow-in-the-dark stickers featuring the silhouettes of the birds-of-paradise that make up Gothic×Luck.
Both limited editions come with a deluxe holographic sleeve case that shimmers under light, while the first prints of all three editions came with a voucher for entry into an event that took place on March 17th, 2019 where participants could see Gothic×Luck live. The album was released via iTunes and Google Music in the North American region.
Additionally, many retailers had their own specific purchase bonuses for the EP:
- Orders from CDJapan were packaged with a full-size Kemono Friends 2 poster featuring Parotia and Lophorina in front of a moonlit Japari Mart.
