Black Jaguar is a Friend that appears in the app version of Kemono Friends 3. She premiered alongside the "Black Jaguar Park, Under Construction!" event as a limited Friend in the event gacha.

In the Black Jaguar Park, Under Construction! event, Black Jaguar lies to Southern Tamandua and Malayan Tapir when they ask what she likes to do for fun, responding that she likes to play at the non-existent Black Jaguar Park.

Strategy

When looking at her points of appeal on paper, it is easy to presume Black Jaguar as suffering dearly from power creep. Her DPS-oriented kit belies her mediocre attack stat, and consequently saddles her with low damage output compared to more focused alternatives such as Shisa Lefty. Her strangely high defensive stats outstrip those of many of the game's dedicated tanks such as Raccoon, and consequently entail some off-tank potential... until you notice that she lacks passive damage mitigation that allow true tanks to function, along with the fact that her stats themselves are rivalled by Humboldt Penguin and Red-Eared Slider from among the Carefree friends, who both provide additional utilities that are likely more compelling.

Even using her only to exploit the tempo gained from her extremely powerful standby effect is not foolproof, as Shiserval Lefty and White Serval both possess unlimited versions of said effect while also dealing much more damage. With all this in mind, Black Jaguar comes off as a middling bruiser to be used when you lack the assortment of Friends required for a more decisive team composition.

However, the truth is that Black Jaguar is a rare case of terrain effects being required for a Friend to reach their full potential. Her miracle trait makes her monstrous in nighttime stages, providing enough of a damage boost to rival Tsuchinoko when both are maxed. Having a relevant damage output consequently allows her to excel as a frontliner when coupled with her existing survivability. With her damage now at a satisfactory level, the plethora of advantages in her kit—2/2/1 flags, Beat Miracle+, defense debuffing on Beat, and a chorus standby—can be fully appreciated.
